Mandi J. Stewart is an Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University in the School of Public and International Affairs, Department of Public Administration. Her research interests include nonprofit leadership and foundation behaviors, and her current research has been exploring the career paths of nonprofit executives. Mandi has her PhD in public administration from American University; her Masters degree in social work from Boston College; and her Bachelors degree in business administration from Birmingham-Southern College.
Mandi’s interest in the career outcomes of nonprofit degree seekers stems from her own professional experience in the nonprofit sector. She has over ten years experience working in nonprofit organizations ranging from small, local efforts to large, international organizations. During this work, she became curious about the educational background and experiences that prepare nonprofit leaders for their work.
